Evaluation...Anti Bullying
In the end I think I did really well. We finished our games and we posted them on the blog. In the whole project we did really well, because all of us made our games and animations. I think I used my time well and I contributed well to the team. Sometimes I think I was playing the games for fun instead of working which put me off, but I think I worked well in the end.
Investigate: In this section we made some prototype games for sploder. We were using different sites as well, but we decided to go for sploder.
Design: In this section we designed our games and tested them to out to see which ones were better.
Plan: In this section we planned on how we were going to make the games, what type of game we are going to make and what software we will use.
Create: Here, we actually created the game, it was a lot of fun. We had lots of games, but in the end we could only use 2.
What we did well was, we worked like a team and worked together. I could have improved on using my time better because i played some games while I was waiting. I could have finished it quicker. What I would do better is change sploder, you could only choose 2 types of games and they were a bit violent. We finished out project 1 day before the due date so we used our time well. This project changed me about bullying and It told me never to bully.
Project Analysis:
Week 1: In Week one we spent our time looking and testing the right website.
Week 2: We were discussing how we will make our games.
Week 3: Started testing our games and making prototypes
Week 4: We made our games and were finalizing them.
Week 5: We had finished our games and posted them on the ab4kidz blog.

Design Specification
I have made 3 different games for my design. They all worked well, but I still have not Finalized my design. My designs are about this:
1st design: My first design was about 2 kids who have to get a key to get to the teachers room. There are good and bad things about this game.
Good: The game is easy
It is basic
It is fun
Bad: The game has robots
It is a bit violent
2nd Design: This game was different, this was about 6 kids who are being bullied by a whole bunch of bullies. The idea is the same about getting the key to the teacher.
Good: The game is fun
The game is basic
Bad: It has space ships
3rd Design: This design was a completely different type than the others. It is about a boy, who is being bullied by some monsters. The monsters are the bullies. The game has weapons and you must defeat the bully.
Good: The game is fun
The game has humans
It is about bullying
Bad: It is unrealistic
It has weapons
We will be using two design in the end, one will be a site called Command and Conquer (commandandconquer.com) In this game you are allowed to create a game however you want to in a sort of fantasy.
The Sploder game that I will be using is my second design because it is easy to play, it has a good story line.
I think in this project I have worked well because I have finished 3 designs and have finished my design.
Advantages and Disadvantages of Sploder
Well from Sploder, we have made progress. We have made a design for the game and we have the basic idea. We have made 2 designs and are going to check which one we are going to use. There are some advantages and disadvantages of Sploder.
Advantages:
It allows you to make games
It's easy to make games
It has lots of options
We can embed it
Disadvantages:
It is a bit violent
It has robots and not humans

Investigation Game Design Anti-Bullying Campaign
Our Anti-Bullying Campaign was to do with Game Design. We were investigating on where to make good games. The best site we found was SPLODDER.com. It gave us lots of ideas and it is child safe. The age group would be about 7 years old and up. The games are not too violent and they are also animated which makes it more suitable for kids. You can make 2 types of games. Platform and shooter. There are 6 people doing game design in 3 groups. I am working on Mutual Bullying with my partner, Hashim. The other people working on this are Haad and Mohad, and Abdul Rahman and Ahmed are all working on Game Design. The point of my game is that, you are a group of 6 boys who are being bullied. The bullies are hurting you and you have to get to the key and tell the teacher. You get the key then open a door to the teacher.

My final Evaluation
I have completely finished my Iweb. It was a lot of fun doing it. I have some multimedia in it which makes it stand out. The colors I used also make it stand out. I think I have done really well in this project. It has navigation buttons, it has 5 pages and it has information people need for a natural disaster. In the end everything worked out. My Iweb worked really well and its exactly hoe I imagined it, but better. I think I followed the Design Cycle well. I first investigated my product (Floods). Then I Planed how my design would look and in the end it looked like it was supposed to. Then I created my Iweb. I put most of the necessary information on my Iweb. I had multimedia and a reference page and most of the info. The next step is what I am doing at this moment. I am Evaluating over my Iweb. In the end it turned out great. I had a lot of fun.

Client Meeting
The design and layout of my web pages did go according to my plan. I have lost my plan, but I am going to make it again. My homepage looks exactly as how I have drawn it in my plan. I have done a lot of research in the class, I have researched: What is a flood? What to do in case of a flood, how a flood can be caused. I have also researched what has happened to people in recent floods as well as the power of floods. The main Font I used was felt tip, with a blue color. The font looked catchy and it was easy to read. I used blue because I have lots of pictures about the text that I have written, I wanted to put a few videos, but I am still trying to figure out how. I have 4 pages right now, and am going to make my 5th soon. In the Iweb application, there are still stuff I am trying to figure out. For one I am looking for the undo button and looking for how to upload videos. A web widget is a portable chunk of code that can be installed and executed within any separate HTML-based web page by an end user without requiring additional compilation. They are derived from the idea of code reuse. Other terms used to describe web widgets include: gadget, badge, module, webjit, capsule, snippet, mini and flake. Web widgets usually but not always use DHTML, JavaScript, or Adobe Flash. Widgets often take the form of on-screen tools (clocks, event countdowns, auction-tickers, stock market tickers, flight arrival information, daily weather etc). Yes I do have an emergency plan, I took all the precautions and watch the news, incase this happens. I am going to make my reference page last, after I have finished my Iweb.

Information conveyed in synchronous communications
Any information can be sent through both types of communication. You can contact someone through msn messenger, and tell them your location. By email, you can write a whole article about important information about your location and your current situation, like where is the tornado, are you trapped somewhere etc.
Synchronous and Asynchronous communications
Synchronous communication are like MSN and Skype which are chatting sites. Like MSN messenger, Skype and yahoo and gmail messenger. Asynchronous communications are non-instant messaging sites. It is like hotmail, yahoo mail and gmail. All the e-mail sites are asynchronous. Asynchronous communications takes a bit of time to find the email while Synchronous find it immediately.
Week 3 task
The two sites I will talk about are fast-cars-uk.com and HRODC. First of all I will compare the titles of both of them. The fast cars website title stands out more then the HRODC website. These are the two titles.
These were the two titles, you can see the difference between how they stand out. Also the fast cars website looks much better and stands out more. The HRODC website is extremely boring.
The fast cars website is eye catching and has pictures. The HRODC website has nothing but information. Not eye catching or any pictures.

What hardware and software is required to be able to communicate online?
To communicate online, the hardware needed is computers, linksys wireless connection, Mobiles etc. The one that is needed most to use wi-fi or wireless connection is Linksys. It allows you to use internet and communicate online. You need a wireless connection to access the internet, you can also use skype and msn. This is needed to communicate when disaster strikes.
What information can be created before the emergency?
During a natural disaster you can make precautions before it happens. For example, if there is a hurricane or tornado, you can get underground in a shelter to avoid the disaster. The tornado can't blow away an underground shelter. Even if you do this, you must take supplies like water and food for this as you do not want to be stuck underground without any food or water and starve.
Essential information needed to communicate during a disaster
During a natural disaster, you have to give essential information to the people trying to find you. You have to tell at least where you are. You could tell where you were when the disaster happened, you could say what is infront of you or around your current location. For example you could say, that there are, lot's of trees around you, or there are buildings there. This is important as then the searchers can try and locate you, which leads to saving your life. They will also bring supplies to help you in your current condition

Communications used between disasters of Hurricane Katrina and Asian Tsunami
During the Hurricane Katrina, the telephone lines were down so no could contact anyone. the ham radios really helped here. They found people in the hardest areas using the radio, and also saved stranded flood victims in the Louisiana and Mississippi. Ham Radios communicate using voice, computer, television and morse code. These Ham Radios saved more than 15 lives during the hurricane. The ham radio has already saved hundreds of lives and still continuing to do so.
Communication during a natural disaster
Communication is very important during an emergency like a natural disaster. You can communicate through radio, for example. I there is an avalanche, you can broadcast a message on the radio saying that you need help and help should be on the way. You can also communicate using a computer or laptop. You can look up information on what to do in your current situation. For example, if you are facing a hurricane, you can go on the laptop or computer and search on what to do on in your situation, like how to face the hurricane. You can also use mobiles and also Iphones for example. Some have internet and so does the pocket PC. These are all ways of communicating through a natural disaster. They use internet and help. The only downfall of this would be if the internet is down then you would not have communication. In this case you can use radio or wakie talkie. These are ways to communicate during a natural disaster.

How can we use the Internet to help us against natural disasters
Our Guiding question is: How can we use the Internet to help us against natural disasters?
Well the Internet has loads of sites on how we can protect ourselves from natural disasters. You can go on any search engine (I suggest google) and search on these sites. You can type, How to defend ourselves from hurricanes? on google and will come up with 1, 030,000 pages about this topic. The first link might not be what you are looking for, but keep going on. In this case they do give info about this topic. Click here for the first link. This site shows us what FEMA offered for us about defending ourselves from hurricanes.

The Design Cycle II
This is my second blog post about The Design Cycle. In this I will explain in more detail about the 4 stages of this. These 4 are Investigation, Plan, Create, Evaluate. In the Investigate section are supposed to Identify the problem, Develop the design brief, and Formulate a design specification. The Design Brief is where you briefly describe what you are going to do. The design specification is a rough draft of the plan you are going to do. Now lets move on to the plan. In the plan, you must design a solution to your problem and also you must plan on how you are going to do it. In the Create section, you must create what you have planned. You have to use appropriate techniques and equipment. Also you have to follow the plan. In the Evaluation section, you have to grade and write a reflection of your overall project. You also evaluate over how well you used the design cycle.
This is my blog post about the design cycle.
This is my blog post about the design cycle.
The Design the Cycle
The Design Cycle is a MYP technology is a way of organizing projects. There are 4 parts of this cycle, Investigate, Plan, Create and Evaluate. Investigation, is where you identify what you are going to do. Plan, is where you plan your work. Create is where you follow the plan you made and Evaluation, is where you grad the project and look over it, as well as evaluate the work.

Final Evaluation
Our original idea was actually to make our animoto with the pictures we got and then embed the photos to voice thread. When we tried to do that animoto did not let us so we could not do it. We uploaded new pictures and also we added voice. The weakness of our project was that our voice kept getting cut off and also it took us a little while to actually get the pictures again. Our strong points were that as soon as we finished we could upload the animoto and the voice thread immediately to our blogger. Our voice thread could be improved because we added text so we could have removed the text and also make our voice clearer. For the voice thread we could have also embedded the pictures from animoto into our voice thread. Overall this unit was actually quite fun because got to use something we can use again in the future for fun. I would recommend this project for the next year because they can also use this project and also they can use voice thread in the future for their selves as I will quite soon.
This is my Final Evaluation.

My first voice thread picture
My Voice Thread 2
We have not finished are voice thread because our voice thread did not open. We have completed most of it and only need to talk about our last picture. Therefore we cannot present. I tried open it at home but it did not work either.

My Voice Thread
Well in our voice thread we have mobile phones which can help you learn. They all have internet capabilities which lets you go on the internet. Also they can be used as homework diaries like do home work. Have math homework etc. You can even go on wikipedia and Google. This is good because you don't have to go the multimedia labs to do work. We have uploaded all the pictures with the voice thread but the only problem is that it wont record our voice, but once we have fixed that we will be finished.

What is this phone used for
This phone could be used to help you find your way around a new country if you are lost, you could use the GPS system to do this. This could also be used for accessing the internet in order to find information. All students would not need one but ones that need the internet could use this phone. This could inprove the lesson because you would have more internet capabilities and more GPS systems to know your way around Qatar, this could have helped us in the first unit about Life in Qatar.

INVESTIGATE
The technology we are doing are mobiles with internet and that can educate us. You can use it go on the internet instead of the computer. The GPS phone cost $40 to use the internet. The navigation costs about $30. The brand of this phone is Pharos. It could be used for learning at school because you can go on the internet using it and it also has google which is a major search website and will help at school. Click here for a picture of the GPS phone.
